Cooling Jamaican homes. Powering them too.

Air conditioning and solar from one team in Old Harbour, St Catherine, working across all 14 parishes.

A Jamaican home with rooftop solar panels at golden hour

We started fixing AC units. Now we power buildings.

Something Cool Enterprise began the way most Jamaican businesses do: out of necessity and hustle. A couple of technicians who got tired of seeing people overpay for bad work, and decided to do it right.

Ten years later, we're one of Jamaica's most trusted names in HVAC and solar. Not because we have the flashiest ads, but because we show up, do the work properly and charge fairly. Word travels in Jamaica.

We added solar because it made sense. Jamaica has some of the highest electricity rates in the Caribbean, and we sit under some of the strongest sun. Pairing HVAC with solar means we can cool your space and cut the bill that comes with it.

A Something Cool technician installing a solar panel

Certified technicians. Local crew. Real warranty.

Every install and service call is run by a trained technician on our payroll, not a one-off subcontractor. If something goes wrong, the same crew that did the work comes back to fix it.

How we got here

  1. 2014

Started with a van and a toolbox

Two technicians, residential AC repairs across Kingston and St Andrew.

  2. 2017

    Added solar to the mix

JPS rates climbing, customers asking: we trained up, got certified and started installing panels.

  3. 2019

    Opened the storefront

Finally a proper shop. Walk-in parts, consultations and a growing team.

  4. 2022

    Island-wide coverage

Expanded to all 14 parishes, with service vehicles and dedicated installation crews.

  5. 2024

    Commercial contracts

Hotels, plazas and government buildings. Same standards, bigger scale.

What we stand on

Not a mission statement from a template. Just the things that guide how we work.

  • Do it right the first time.

Cutting corners creates callbacks. We'd rather spend an extra hour now than come back next month.

  • Price it honest.

We quote before we start. The price doesn't change halfway through unless the scope does, and that's a conversation, not a surprise.

  • Jamaica first.

We spec for salt air, tropical heat and JPS fluctuations. Generic recommendations from a manual don't cut it here.

  • Explain, don't upsell.

If your AC needs a J$3,000 part and not a J$300,000 replacement, we'll tell you. Trust lasts longer than a big invoice.

  • Show up on time.

We give you a window and we hit it. If we're running late, you'll know before we arrive, not after.

  • Stand behind the work.

Full warranty on installations. If something we did fails, we fix it: no argument, no invoice, no runaround.
