Most residential customers see 60–80% reduction after a properly sized install — based on 240+ installs since 2024. Exact savings depend on roof area, daytime usage pattern, and whether you add battery storage. We model your specific bill before quoting.
You stay grid-connected. When solar produces more than you use, the surplus feeds the grid and JPS credits your account at the OUR-set wholesale rate (lower than retail). When you use more than you produce, you draw from the grid normally. Most savings come from offsetting your own daytime usage, not selling to JPS.
Typical residential payback in Jamaica is 3.5–5 years for a 5–10 kW grid-tie system, longer for hybrid systems with batteries. With JPS rates trending up, payback periods have been shortening.
Only with battery storage. A grid-tie system without batteries shuts off during outages for safety. Hybrid systems with batteries — like our standard Mutabank 10 kW build — keep essentials running. Most customers size for fans, lights, fridge, and one AC zone.
On-site installation is 2–3 days for a typical residential system. Permitting, JPS interconnection approval, and bidirectional meter installation add 2–6 weeks depending on parish. We handle the paperwork.
